Flopsy Bunny

As of late my youngest daughter has had a love of bunnies. It all started at Christmas time when she received The Complete Peter Rabbit Library from my sister in law. Since Christmas those are usually the books that she wants to read. She gets very board if you actually read the text but she is madly in love with the beautiful illustrations in each book, as am I. The other day I was over at mmmcrafts and found a PDF pattern for sale of a very cute bunny and I fell in love. I knew I had to make a bunny for my youngest daughter. Unfortunately I have a hard time paying $10 for a PDF so I went to work designing my own pattern and finding the fabrics I was going to use. I had two flannel receiving blankets that where a boy pattern but loved the colors and stripes, so that is what I ended up using and I'm in love with the results.
I'm very happy with the end results, this is the first stuffed animal I've made and it is definitely a little more difficult than I was expecting. His poor little nose had to be redone twice but I learned a lot during this project.

My poor sick baby reading Flopsy a book.

She has been loving on him since before he was even finished. What more could you want.

Like I explained I did use two receiving blankets to make him. There was an airplane on one of the blankets and I just didn't have the heart to toss it, so it went on his belly. His face is all hand sewn using embroidery floss. His arms, legs and ears all have poly pellets to give them a little weight.

I can make a PDF pattern if anyone wants one, just leave me a comment and I will put it together.

  1. He is A LOT bigger than I was expecting, way bigger then the monkey I will be making!! I love him though he is so cute, and he doesn't look like a boy bunny at ALL. Super cute.
